19th July 09 – To Shanghai

Depart London Heathrow with Virgin Airways (with an Air China flight number - but it is Virgin!). 

20th July 09 – Shanghai

Arrive in Shanghai International airport. On arrival transfer to our hotel, the Mayfair. The rest of the day is free at leisure.

21st July 09 – Shanghai/Wuhan

We breakfast at our hotel before visiting the Yuyuan Garden and take a walk along the Bazaar outside. In the afternoon we visit Shanghai Museum and then take a stroll along the Bund and browse through the shops along Nanjing Road. Later we transfer to the airport for the flight to Wuhan and on arrival transfer to The Holiday Inn, Wuhan. Lunch and dinner in local restaurants. (BLD)

22nd July 09 – The Eclipse

Breakfast at hotel or en-route to our total eclipse viewing site. In the afternoon we transfer to Yichang for the Yangtze Cruise (The MV Yangtze). Lunch and dinner in local restaurants. Overnight on board. (BLD)

23rd July 09 – Yangtze Cruise

This morning we visit Three Gorges Dam site. Sail through the Three Gorges ship locks and Xiling Gorge. (Please note cruise programs may be changed according to river condition). Lunch and dinner on board. (BLD)

24th July 09 – Yangtze Cruise

Excursion to Daning River Small Gorges or Shennong Stream. Pass through Wu Gorge/Qutang Gorge. (BLD)

25th July 09 – Yangtze Cruise

Shore excursion to Shibaozhai or Wanzhou. Lunch and dinner on board. (BLD)

26th July 09 – Chongqian/Xi’an or Chongqian/Beijing

We disembark our cruiser at Chongqing in the morning. Those passengers returning to the UK now fly to Beijing for an overnight at the Holiday Inn Lido before their return to London

27th July 09 - Homeward Bound

Those passengers returning to London transfer to the airport for their Air China flight from Beijing to London.

EXTENSION PASSENGERS - 26th July 09

Those passengers taking the extension transfer to airport for flight to Xi’an. Upon arrival we transfer to the Xiyuan Hotel for two nights. Time to enjoy a walk in the local market nearby and see the beautiful Grand Mosque - an true architectural jewel in the centre of a bustling city. Dinner in local restaurant. (BD)

27th July 09 – Xi’an

Breakfast at hotel then a full day excursion to the amazing Terra Cotta Warriors. Very little can prepare you for this magnificent site - you just have to see it to believe it! After lunch, we visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and City Walls. Lunch and dinner in local restaurants. (BLD)

28th July 09 – Xi’an/Beijing

After breakfast we transfer to the airport for morning flight to Beijing. On arrival we visit Tiananmen Square and The Forbidden City. We check-in to the Dongfang Hotel Beijing for two nights. Lunch and dinner in local restaurants. (BLD)

29th July 09 – Beijing

After breakfast we take a morning excursion to TheTemple of Heaven and The Great Wall at Mutianyu. Lunch in local restaurant and a farewell dinner including Peking Duck. Overnight in Dongfang Hotel Beijing. (BLD)

30th July 09 – Homeward Bound

Breakfast at hotel before our transfer to the airport for departure flight with Air China arriving home later that same day. (B)
