Day 1 – London/Delhi
Fly London to Delhi with Virgin on the overnight fl ight.
Day 2 – Delhi
On arrival we transfer to the comfortable Ashok Country Resort for one night and a day to relax and an introduction to the fabulous tour ahead. (B)
Day 3 – Delhi/Lucknow
Transfer to the Shatabdhi Express for Lucknow. On arrival transfer to the comfortable La Palace Inn Hotel. (B) |
Day 4 – Lucknow/Sravasti
We depar t for the extensive ruins of Sravasti, ancient capital of Kosala and visited by Buddha many times. Overnight at the conveniently situated Hotel Nikko. (BD)
Day 5 – Sravasti/Kushinagar
Drive to Kushinagar and explore the ruined viharas of the Mallian city where Buddha achieved Nirvana, alongside the new pilgrimage temples of this important site. Overnight comfortable Hotel Nikko. (BD)
Day 6 – Kushinagar/Patna
Our destination today is Patna on the banks of the Ganges where we take one night at the well appointed fi rst-class Hotel Maurya. (B)
Day 7 – Nalanda/Rajgir
We start the day at the immense ruins of Nalanda, an ancient University, continue to Rajgir, the stunningly situated home of Buddha with numerous temples. We overnight at the Hotel Nikko, Gaya. (BD)
Day 8 – Gaya/Varanasi
A long drive to the Holy City of Varanasi (Benares) and two nights at the fi rst-class Radisson. (B)
Day 9 – Varanasi
An unforgettable morning boat cruise on the mighty Ganges to view the famous funeral Ghats followed by an afternoon excursion to the beauteous and austere remains of Sarnath. (B)

Day 10 – Varanasi/Khajuraho
A complete change today as we fl y to Khajuraho to explore the many richly carved temples world famous for their sensual themes. Overnight at the
nearby fi rst-class Hotel Jass. (B)
Day 11 – Bhopal
Another change of pace and fl avour as we board the Shatabdhi Express for Bhopal and transfer to hotel Nour-us-Subah for two nights. (BD)
Day 12 – Sanchi/Udaygiri
Full day excursion to the wonderful and extensive ruins of Sanchi and the caves of Udaygiri. (BD)
Day 13 – Bhopal/Delhi
Fly to Delhi and a fi nal night Ashok Country Resort. (B)
