Day 1 – London/Tashkent
Fly London to Tashkent arriving in the early hours of the morning. Transfer to the Silk Road Hotel to refresh.
Day 2 – Termez
After our rest we fl y to Termez to visit the fascinating 1st to 7th century Kushan ruins along with the local archaeologists. Overnight Hotel Meridien. (BLD)

Day 3 – Shakre Sabz/Samarkand
Depart for Shakre Sabz birthplace of Tamerlane and visit the Ak Saray palace and other important monuments. Continue to legendary Samarkand in time for a fi rst visit to the Registan bathed in the beautiful evening light. Two nights Afrosiab Palace Hotel. (BLD)
Day 4 – Samarkand
A full day in one of the most awe inspiring cities in the world. We visit the beautiful madrassahs, mosques, bazaar and tombs of Samarkand as well as the museum and settlement mounds and meet the local Archaeological Mission. (BLD)
Day 5 – Samarkand/Bukhara
A fi nal visit in Samarkand with the archaeologists then drive to Bukhara and two nights at the Hotel Zargaron. (BLD)
Day 6 – Bukhara
A full day in Bukhara visiting the exquisite mosques, madrassahs and mausoleums of this very fi ne and atmospheric city. (BLD)
Day 7 – Bukhara/Merv
Transfer to Merv and one night hotel Margiana. (BLD)
Day 8 – Merv/Ashgabat
A full morning to explore some of the many ancient mounds, Merv and the museum. Continue to Ashgabat and two nights at the Hotel Nissa. (BLD)
Day 9 – Nissa
We tour the archaeological site of Nissa and the history museum. (BLD) |
Day 10 – Khiva/Urgench
Fly to Tashauz, proceed to our visit to the splendours of Khiva and the ancient remains at Kunya and one night Hotel Asia Khiva. (BLD)
Day 11 – Tashkent
Transfer to Urgench and fl y to Tashkent to visit the Institute of Fine Arts and the History Museum and a fi nal night at the Silk Road Hotel. (BLD)
Day 12 – Tashkent/London
Fly British Airways back to London arriving same day. (B) Our fi nal tour takes us back to the West Bank. We will start at the huge temple of Ramesses I I I at Medinet Habu, continue to the wonderful Valley of the Queens and fi nally visit some of the tombs of the nobles such as Ramose and Rekhmire. (B)
