Day 1 – London/Cairo
Fly London to Cairo with EgyptAir and check-in to the first-class Sofi tel Sphinx Hotel Giza for seven night’s bed and breakfast. This stylish hotel has all the usual amenities and is within walking distance of the pyramids.

Day 2 – Giza
We start with a very thorough investigation of the Pyramids at Giza and several of the tombs on the plateau. There will be an opportunity to enter one of the pyramids. We fi nish at the great Sphinx and its mortuary temple. (B)
Day 3 – Sakkara/Dashur
A very full day as we head for Sakkara and the Step Pyramid. We will see several mastaba tombs and smaller pyramids before continuing to the magnifi cent Red and Bent pyramids at Dashur. We return via the newly opened pyramids at Abu Sir. (B) Cairo, Mother of the World, is our base for this thorough and in depth exploration of the history of the region. There are pyramids aplenty and we venture further afield too.
Day 4 – Heliopolis/Museum
A visit to the obelisk and open air museum at Ain Shams in a little known part of the city. This afternoon is spent in the unforgettable Cairo Museum. (B)
Day 5 – Faiyum
A fascinating full day tour of the Faiyum with ruined city of Karanis and the mysterious Labyrinth and pyramid at Hawara. On to the pyramid and mastaba at Meidum – both of which can be entered. (B)
Day 6 – Delta
Another wonderful and full day as we head for the Delta and visit the ancient city of the cats at Bubastis and the massive excavations at Tanis before returning to Cairo. (B)

Day 7 – Alexandria
Today we head out to Alexandria and visit the new museum, the theatre of Kom el Dikka and the catacombs at Kom el Shugafa before returning to Cairo for our final night. (B)
Day 8 – Cairo/London
Fly from Cairo to London with EgyptAir arriving later that same day. (B)
