Day 1 - Friday 18th March 2022

Guests arrive in Cairo (individual flights). Our tour representative meets each guest at the airport, and arranges private transportation to the Steigenberger Hotel, Giza. We stay for four nights, with room and breakfast at hotel buffet included.

Day 2 - Saturday 19th March - Giza

The Giza Pyramids and Museum. Entry to the Giza plateau is included, but guests can purchase an optional extra ticket if they wish to go inside the Great Pyramid of Khufu. Lunch box provided by hotel.

In the afternoon we visit the museum. If the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) is open by this point, we go there. If not, we visit the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square. (BL)

Day 3 - Sunday 20th - Saqqara

A full day visit to the ancient necropolis. Entry to the monuments of Saqqara (Step Pyramid, Unas, New Kingdom tombs, Serapeum, and more). Lunch at Saqqara Palm restaurant included. (BL)

Day 4 - Monday 21st - Dahshur and Mit Rahina

The Bent and Red Pyramids of Sneferu (with entry to both). Lunch box from the hotel. A visit to the ruins of Mit Rahina (ancient Memphis) in the afternoon. (BL)

Day 5 - Tuesday 22nd - AM Flight to Luxor included

We visit the grand Luxor Temple, and the Luxor Museum. Check in to the Old Winter Palace Hotel (Garden Pavilion Wing) for five nights, room and breakfast included. (B)

Day 6 - Wednesday 23rd - The Temple of Karnak, and the Temple of Mut

The Temple of Karnak, and the Temple of Mut. Morning guided tour, however, stay the whole day if you desire. Lunch own arrangements (local café or restaurant). (B)

Day 7 - Thursday 24th - The Valley of the Kings

Early morning cross the Nile, visit the Colossi of Memnon and the Valley of the Kings. We include tickets for entry to the tombs of Tutankhamun and Sety I. Visit the temple of Deir el-Bahari (Hatshepsut), and the Howard Carter dig house. Afternoon visit to the Nobles’ tombs, Ramose and Sennefer. Visit the Ramesseum (Mortuary Temple of Ramesses II). Lunch at a local restaurant included. (BL)

Day 8 - Friday 25th - A day trip to Abydos

We take our coach to Abydos, to see the grand temples of Sety I and Ramesses II. Time to view the Osireion. Drive back to Luxor via the Temple of Hathor at Dendera. Lunch box from the hotel included. (BL)

Day 9 - Saturday 26th - The Valley of the Queens

In the Valley of the Queens we include the ticket for entry to the Tomb of Nefertari. Visit the village of the tomb builders at Deir el-Medina. Visit the Mortuary Temple of Ramesses III at Medinet Habu. Lunch own arrangements, return to hotel early afternoon. (B)

Day 10 - Sunday 27th - Drive to Aswan

Check in to the Movenpick Hotel on Elephantine island, 3 nights (room and breakfast included). Visit the ancient town of Elephantine. (B)

Day 11 - Monday 28th - The Unfinished Obelisk of Hatshepsut at Aswan

Visit the Unfinished Obelisk of Hatshepsut at Aswan. Visit the Temple of Isis on the island of Philae. Lunch own arrangements, local café or restaurant. In the afternoon or evening visit the Nubia Museum. (B)

Day 12 - Tuesday 29th - A day trip to Abu Simbel

See the magnificent temples of Ramesses II and Queen Nefertari at Abu Simbel. Lunch box included. (BL)

Day 13 - Wednesday 30th - Morning Flight to Cairo

Morning Flight to Cairo. (Included). Lunch at the Naguib Mahfouz restaurant is included. Visit the Khan el-Khalili market. Visit the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (royal mummies and artefacts). Tour ends this evening. Check in to the Meridien Hotel at Cairo Airport for one night on room and breakfast basis.
