Our aim is to present a series of illustrated lectures from an exciting panel of experts, covering a range of fascinating subjects. We look at archaeology and history from new and intriguing angles. These events are an ideal opportunity to relax, catch up with friends and socialise with our experts.
We have been hosting conferences for over a decade now at several venues including Highclere Castle, Reading University, the Ashmolean Museum and University College London. Several have been held in Luxor and included site visits. All have been a huge success.
In September 2009 a two day Conference at University College London. We were delighted to be joined in London by Dr Sabry Abd el-Aziz of the Supreme Council of Antiquities. Dr Sabry opened the event by giving us all the latest news on recent discoveries in Egypt.
Our other guest speakers were Stephen Quirke, Dirk Huyge, Paul Collins, Rosalie David, Caroline Wilkinson. Michael Wood, Colin Reader, Lucia Gahlin and Chris Naunton.
In August 2010 a two day Conference at University College London with our guest from Egypt, Dr Mansour Boraik of the Supreme Council of Antiquities. We heard all about the development on excavations on the Sphinx Avenue, the Scared Route, between Luxor and Karnak Temples. Our other distinguished guests were Sam Nixon, Jaromir Malek, Glenn Godenho, Adam Lowe, Peter Stevens, Sally-Ann Ashton, Campbell Price and Dylan Bickerstaffe.

In September 2011 we held a two day conference dedicated entirely to The Amarna Trust, looking at the many different aspects of its work. Professor Barry Kemp CBE opened the conference and talks followed by Kate Spence, Bill Manley, Joanna Marchant, Gillian Pyke, Paul Nicholson, Steve Cross, Jo Fletcher and Stephen Buckley.

In June 2013 we had another successful conference at the University College London on the 8th and 9th June. Guest speakers included; Philippe Collombert, Susanne Bickel, Jo Marchant, Colin Reader, Andrew Shortland, Peter James, Elizabeth Bloxam and Dylan Bickerstaffe.
In September 2014 we changed venue again to St Wifrid’s Hall, at the Brompton Oratory in South Kensington. This was also a break from our tradition of 2 day events and took place over a single full day. The whole idea was very well received. Speakers included; Laurent Bavay, Jay Carver, Chris Naunton, Pierre Tallet and Steve Cross.
