Day 1
- Sunday 10th March - 2024
Guests arrive in Luxor (own individual flights). Our tour representative meets each guest at the airport, and arranges private transportation to the Historic Old Winter Palace, Garden Pavilion Wing, for six nights on room and breakfast basis. If you are joining this group after the Old Kingdom tour in Cairo we will meet you at the airport, assist at check in and you will have a leisure day at the hotel.
Day 2
- Monday 11th March - West Bank 1
Early this morning we cross the Nile, visit the Colossi of Memnon and the Mortuary Temple of Ramesses III at Medinet Habu. Next, the village of the tomb builders at Deir el-Medina. We include lunch at a local café and then visit the temple of Deir el-Bahri built for Hatshepsut. (BL)
Day 3
- Tuesday 12th March - Karnak and Luxor Temples
We head to Karnak at dawn, before the crowds arrive, and enjoy the sunrise over the site. After free time at the hotel (lunch own arrangements) we head to Luxor Temple for a guided tour. (B)
Day 4
- Wednesday 13th March - West Bank 2
To the Valley of the Kings. We include tickets for entry to the tombs of Tutankhamun and Sety I. However we also have special permits for private entry to the tombs of Thutmose III and Horemheb. Both these tombs are closed to the general public. After lunch at a local café we return to the hotel. (BL)
Day 5
- Thursday 14th March- West Bank 3
Today a visit to the Nobles’ tombs, Ramose, Userhat and Khaemhat. Then we continue to the Ramesseum the Mortuary Temple of Ramesses II. Lunch at a local restaurant included. This afternoon we visit the Valley of the Queens with entry to the wonderful tomb of Nefertari. (BL)
Day 6
- Friday 15th March - Abydos
An early start for the journey to Abydos. On arrival we visit the Temple of Sety I and also have a special permit to enter the Osireion. On the way back to Luxor we make a stop at the Temple of Dendera. We travel with lunch boxes today. (BL)
Day 7
- Saturday 16th March - To Cairo
Today we fly to Cairo and on arrival go straight to The Grand Egyptian Museum. Lunch will be own arrangements at the museum. Later we take the journey to the Meridien Hotel at the airport where we check in for one night on room and breakfast basis. (B)
Day 8
- Sunday 17th March - Homeward bound
Today we will assist with the short journey to the terminal building ready for your flight home. (B)
